Banana Bread

From "Logan River Neighborhood Cookbook 2000", contributor: Amy Price

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
4 bananas (2 cups mashed)
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 cups flour
1/2 cup nuts, chopped (optional)

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, bananas and milk. Sift together: salt, soda and flour. Add to mixture. Bake in 2 large or 4 small, greased loaf tins at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
